Tithes, Offerings, & Gifts

Let the windows open!

2 Corinthians

Maybe you are contributing offerings above your tithe as an act of generosity. It doesn’t matter why you are giving as long as “Each of you give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7) “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what you have, and not according to what you do not have.” (2 Corinthians 8:12)

Malachi 3:10

Perhaps you are tithing in obedience to Malachi 3:10: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there will be food enough in my Temple; if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and pour out a blessing so great you won’t have room enough to take it in! Try it! Let me prove it to you!” (Living Bible, TLB)
